WHAT A GAME!
That's an understatement. I had a feeling that this was going to be a long, agonizing, nail biting event that hopefully didn't end in heart ache. Now that the Mets are out I have channeled my allegiance to my AL team, the Twins.
Ironically the White Sox (who broke the Twins heart in the play-in game last year) helped force this 163rd game by beating the Tigers last week. Going into it, I knew it was going to be a long night.
I headed out of work to watch the big game and trusted my friends to pick a quality venue for this sports showcase. I was surprised when my friends decided on the Saigon Grill. Saigon Grill? I have never been there but it doesn't scream sports bar to me. It doesn't scream at all actually, it just quietly whispers 'you may not want to watch your baseball here.'
Upon arrival 'the grill' had twenty romantically dining couples and two TV's not turned to baseball. They were very leery about putting the game on at their fancy bar and they probably sensed that we were going to be trouble makers. They were slightly correct. You couldn't have watched that game last night without yelling, cheering, jumping and generally upsetting most of the patrons of the Saigon Grill. For this, I am sorry. I am equally sorry for the Tigers who had a stellar season and you hate to be knocked out of anything in such a dramatic fashion. Cheers to you Justin Verlander, you are a nice guy who is also pretty good at Wii.

Alright Twins- plane ride, no sleep and now you are in New York. Let's do it. Do it for Kevin Slowey.

I'm glad to hear you've adopted the Twins. Friends and I were 4 of 54,088. The only thing that could be better is when the Twins win game 5 against the Yanks!
